Section 23 - Wetsuit

I am not going to suggest brands or styles as they are a matter of personal choice. However, I do want to point out that back zip full length wetsuits are easier to get off your upper body than front zip ones, especially on a kayak. If you are solo diving you better have a wetsuit you can get in and out of on your own.

Paddling with your wetsuit completely on will likely result in overheating. I wear a full length, long sleeve, back zip, 3mm wetsuit. I leave the upper portion off while paddling. It is easy to finish putting on and zipping up at the dive site. The same is true after the dive.

TAKE NOTE of wearing rash guards, T shirts, or other items of clothing under your wetsuit if you are solo diving. It can be very difficult, if not impossible, to pull up the zipper on a back zip wetsuit without snagging the clothing item in the zipper.
